Performance Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities

• Revise Linux kernel to monitor and improve data performance
• Develop tools to measure performance of trading infrastructure
• Initiate preventive and corrective measures to ensure optimal performance
• Collect deep analysis of and report on trading system performance data
• Identify bottlenecks and potential areas for optimization
• Provide ongoing ideas, solutions and recommendations for producing stronger trading results
• Resolve both current & future performance issues to ensure trading is not impacted

Knowledge and skill requirements

• University degree in Computer Science or relevant experience
• Expert in Linux
• Good understanding of networked systems (TCP/IP, UDP, IP multicast)
• Experience with analysis tools (Wireshark/Ethereal, vmstat, sysstat)
• Good scripting skills (Perl, Python, bash)
• Knowledge of SQL (MySQL)
• Knowledge of Java is a plus
• Flexible, proactive, hands-on mentality, able to work independently in a team setting
• Fluent in English
